JAKARTA – Loka Rasa, a celebration dedicated to showcasing Indonesia’s rich culinary heritage, is back at 107 Marriott Bonvoy restaurants throughout Indonesia. This time there are 10 authentic dishes curated by five culinary experts from Marriott International hotels and resorts in Indonesia.

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno appreciated Marriott Bonvoy’s initiative which consistently strives to present Indonesian culinary delights and maintains the authentic taste of the dishes served.

“It is hoped that tourists can become more familiar with Indonesian culinary delights through Loka Rasa. So that Indonesian culinary delights can become a magnet to attract more tourist arrivals,” said Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga in The Weekly Brief With Sandi Uno at the Sapta Pesona Building, Jakarta, recently.

Deputy for Tourism Products and Activity Organizer of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Baparekraf Vinsensius Jemadu said that Loka Rasa intersects with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy’s program, namely Spice Up The World, which prioritizes taste authentication.

“And we see Marriott International as an international chain. I think this is a very good collaboration to be able to socialize our culinary delights to guests from abroad,” said Vinsen.

Area Vice President at Marriott International, Indonesia & Malaysia Ramesh Jackson said that his party is very proud to be able to serve the best and most authentic local Indonesian culinary delights at all Marriott International properties in Indonesia.

“We launched Loka Rasa last year. And this year we are bringing it back with innovation. So we chose 10 dishes that are very popular in Indonesia, such as fried rice, fried vermicelli, soto ayam, oxtail soup, satay and gado-gado,” said Ramesh. .

“Through Loka Rasa, we present authentic tastes of Indonesian dishes so that tourists can enjoy local dishes that are truly authentic and typical of Indonesia. So if the food tastes spicy, it will taste spicy,” he said.

Senior Area Director of Operations at Marriott International, Indonesia & Malaysia Masri said that Loka Rasa’s presence last year received quite high enthusiasm. The number of visitors who came was very large and they liked the Loka Rasa event. So for Loka Rasa this time Marriott International chose the five best chefs from Bali, Surabaya and Jakarta.

“Of course the chef we chose is very passionate about local food, especially motherhood recipes. This is what makes it very special,” he said.
