West Manggarai –
Voter participation in the Manggarai Regent-Deputy Regent Election (Pilbup), East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), only reached 68.65 percent of the 247,858 mandatory voters recorded in the permanent voter list (DPT) and additional voter list (DPTb). Only 170,144 voters exercised their voting rights in the 2024 Manggarai Pilbup.
“Voter participation for the Manggarai Pilbup was 68.65 percent,” said the Head of the Sosdiklih, Parmas and HR Division of the Manggarai Regency KPU, Florianus Irwan Kondo, Thursday (5/12/2024).
The man known as Ryan revealed a number of factors causing the low voter participation in the 2024 Manggarai Pilbup. One of them was that the Manggarai KPU did not know a number of voters registered in the DPT. As a result, these voters could not be given voting invitation letters.
“DPT voters are unknown so C-Notification cannot be given,” said Ryan.
Another factor, Ryan continued, was that there were voters who died after the DPT was determined. Apart from that, there are voters registered in the DPT who are still in overseas areas on voting day.
“DPT voters who are not there on the day are still overseas,” said Ryan.
There were 246,672 voters registered in the 2024 Manggarai Pilbup DPT. Only 168,678 voters came to the polling station (TPS). Apart from DPT voters, there are also 370 transfer voters and 1,096 DPTb voters who are using their voting rights in the 2024 Manggarai Pilbup.
It is known that the results of the plenary meeting recapitulating the vote count at the Manggarai KPU level, Wednesday (4/12/2024) determined candidate pair (paslon) serial number 2, Heribertus Geradus Laju Nabit-Fabianus Abu (Heri-Fabi), as the winner of the 2024 Manggarai Regional Election.
Heri-Fabi eliminated two rivals, candidate pair number 1 Maksi Ngkeros-Ronald Susilo (Maksi-Ronal), and candidate pair number 3 Yohanes Halut-Thomas Dohu (Yohan-Thomas). Heri-Fabi is 19,327 votes ahead of Maksi-Ronal, and 26,670 votes behind Yohan-Thomas.
Heri-Fabi received 71,027 votes. Followed by Maksi-Ronal with 51,700 votes, and Yohan-Thomas with 44,357 votes.
There were 170,144 voters exercising their voting rights in the 2024 Manggarai Pilbup. A total of 167,084 votes were declared valid and 3,060 votes were invalid.
