Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemkomdigi) is socializing and supporting monitoring of the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program throughout Indonesia.
At the program launch event at SD Negeri 5 Cilangkap, Depok, West Java, Monday, Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid said that effective socialization was the key to the successful implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG).
“Effective outreach is the foundation for the success of every government program. We at Komdigi are committed to ensuring that information about the MBG Program is spread to remote areas so that the benefits are felt by the entire community,” said Meutya.
He explained that the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program started from 190 service points in 26 provinces. The government targets expanding the program’s reach to 937 service points by the end of January 2025.
In implementing the program, he said, the Ministry of Communication and Higher Education is tasked with conveying program outreach using various communication channels and means to ensure all levels of society understand the benefits and procedures for accessing the program.
“This outreach also aims to increase public awareness of the importance of their role in supporting and monitoring program implementation,” he said.
“This outreach is more than just conveying information. It is an invitation to the community to jointly monitor and support the success of the program,” he explained.

Apart from socializing the program, Kemkomdigi developed an application to support monitoring the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program.
“By utilizing technology, we can monitor program distribution directly real-time. “This ensures that this program not only runs smoothly, but also meets targets,” he said.
Meutya also said that the Free Nutritious Meal Program is not only beneficial for improving the nutritional status of students, but will also have an impact on increasing the income of farmers, fishermen and micro, small and medium businesses in the local area.
