How to Make Sate Lilit So that the Meat Sticks, Use Chicken Breast


KOMPAS.com – Sate lilit is a typical Balinese food that is often found in various dishes, for example eaten with mixed Balinese rice.

Basically, satay lilit is made from crushed chicken meat, then attached to a lemongrass stalk.

However, did you know that there is a special trick that can be done so that the meat attached to the lemongrass stick sticks and doesn’t come off.

Oki said, so that the wrapped satay meat sticks to the lemongrass stalks, the meat used must be chicken breast.

Even though sate lilit uses fish meat, the meat mixture must include chicken.

“Use chicken breast, if you use other parts of chicken, there will be a lot of fat,” said Oki when met at The Upper Clift Resort & Cafe, Sentul, Bogor Regency, Tuesday (15/10/2024).

If you want to mix chicken with fish in a satay lilit dish, the proportion of fish and chicken is 70:30.

After that, stir the meat mixture with cornstarch and spices, then attach it to the lemongrass stalks, then steam the wrapped satay for about 30 minutes over medium heat.
