How to fry know not to be sticky and crushed in the pan


Kompas.com – Tofu is one of the most popular food ingredients in Indonesia. In addition to the affordable price, tofu is also easily processed into a variety of delicious dishes.

One of the most common ways to process tofu is to fry it. However, many people experience obstacles when frying tofu because it is often sticky in a pan or destroyed.

Therefore, it is important to know the right way so that the fried food is more beautiful and crispy. Here are some tips that you can try at home.

1. Drain tofu before fried

Tofu contains a lot of water that can cause splashes of oil and make it sticky in the pan when fried.

Therefore, before frying, drain tofu first. Use a filter to dispose of water, then place tofu on a baking sheet that has been covered with tissue or towel.

You can also press tofu slowly using the cutting board so that the water comes out faster.

2. Soak with salt water

Soaking tofu with salt water before fried will make it more savory and delicious. Soak the tofu for about 30 minutes so that the seasoning is more pervasive.

In addition to adding taste, this step also helps reduce the water content in tofu so that fried foods are more crispy.

3. Cut tofu with the right size

Cut tofu with a thickness of about 1.5 cm so it is not easily destroyed when fried. Avoid cutting tofu too small or thin because it can cause tofu to break easily when cooked.

4. Cover with cornstarch

In order to know not easily destroyed and get a more crispy texture, you can cover it with cornstarch.

This layer also helps prevent tofu from sticking to the pan when fried. In addition to cornstarch, you can also use flour or rice flour according to taste.

5. Use enough oil and heat it well

Quite a lot of oil will help tofu evenly mature and not stick to the pan. Make sure the oil is hot before entering tofu.

After inserting the tofu, reduce the heat so that the inside is perfectly cooked without making the outside burnt too fast.

6. Drain with a filter

After tofu is cooked and golden color, remove and drain on the filter. This method helps keep the crispness of tofu longer than draining it on tissue paper or closed containers that can make tofu moist.
