With non-stick material, Teflon makes the process of cooking satay easier without the hassle of lighting charcoal. However, there are several things you need to pay attention to so that satay cooked on Teflon is not dry or hard.

Tips for cooking chicken satay in Teflon

The following are some tips for cooking chicken satay with Teflon so that the results are soft, juicy and no less delicious than satay grilled over charcoal.

Use pieces of meat of the same size

Make sure the chicken used for satay is cut to the same size. Uniform cuts ensure that the meat cooks evenly, so that no parts are burnt or still raw. Apart from that, the satay will also look neater and more attractive.

Use a softening agent

To get a soft satay texture, use natural tenderizing ingredients such as papaya leaves, pineapple, yogurt, or baking soda.

Coat the meat with tenderizing agent for a few minutes before rinsing with clean water. This method helps soften the meat fibers without reducing its natural flavor.

Brush with oil

Before grilling the satay, grease the Teflon with a little oil so the meat doesn’t stick. Apart from that, also rub oil on the satay meat to keep it moist during the cooking process.

You can also add a little oil to the marinade for a more savory taste.

Cover with banana leaves or aluminum foil

So that the satay doesn’t stick and burn quickly, cover it with Teflon using banana leaves. If banana leaves are not available, aluminum foil with a few holes can also be an alternative. This method helps reduce the risk of burning while maintaining the authentic taste of the satay.

Turned over often

When cooking satay, make sure to turn it over periodically. Flipping the skewers helps ensure the meat cooks evenly and doesn’t burn. When flipping the satay, you can also apply additional spices so that the flavors penetrate the meat better.

Keep the fire stable

Flame stability is the key to cooking perfect satay on Teflon. Use medium heat to ensure the meat cooks slowly without burning quickly. Check the fire periodically to maintain its stability.
