BRUNO Mars is holding a concert in Indonesia for three days. Starting from last Wednesday 11 September, until today, Saturday, (14/9/2024), it will be his last appearance at JIS.

For those of you who are fans of Bruno Mars, of course you don’t just memorize his songs when watching his concerts. It wouldn’t be perfect if you didn’t know the favorite food of the singer of the hit Die With a Smile

Apparently, one of Bruno Mars’ favorite foods is Asian food, you know! Unfortunately, not Indonesia, but a neighboring country, namely the Philippines. The name is Chicken Adobo, compiled from various sources, this is an authentic Filipino dish and is one of the most popular foods. This dish is uniquely made by simmering chicken in vinegar and soy sauce.

Several sources expert in Asian food history say that Filipinos were cooking adobo even before Spanish colonization. According to them, cooking with vinegar can preserve meat. This method is also considered to be one of the earliest food preservation practices.

The taste of juicy chicken in a savory adobo sauce makes chicken adobo a food that is loved by all ages from children to adults. Although the dishes and methods of cooking adobo in Filipino cuisine and adobo in Spanish cuisine have some similarities, they both refer to two different things according to their respective cultural roots.
