KNOW Batchoy, a legendary specialty of Iloilo City, will be reviewed by Okezone. Iloilo is one of 55 cities in the world selected by UNESCO as a creative city for gastronomy.
Iloilo City was chosen because it has a variety of unique foods. The cooking ingredients also come from the city which has a football club called Kaya Iloilo.
Some typical foods from Iloilo City are Batchoy, Pancit Molo, Kadyos Baboy Langka (KBL), Chicken Binakol, Laswa, Kansi, Kadyos, manok, kag ubad, Chicken Inasal, Kinilaw. Of the foods above, Okezone, which is present in the Philippines at the invitation of Archipelago Hotels, received information that Batchoy is the most popular food in Iloilo.
Batchoy is a noodle soup from the Philippines made from pork innards, pork cracklings, beef stock and noodles. This food first appeared in the La Paz region in Iloilo City, Philippines.
This dish was reportedly first prepared by Federico Guilergan Sr. in 1938 in Iloilo City. The initial recipe is, noodles, beef, pork and a mixture of broth.
