Fresh Gobed Rujak Recipe, Practical and Delicious Dish


KOMPAS.com – Rujak gobed is a typical dish that combines fresh fruit with spicy and savory spices.

This dish is very suitable to be served in hot weather or as a complement to a casual event with the family.

Rujak Gobed Recipe

Material

  • ¼ kg young mango, finely shaved
  • ½ kg pineapple, peeled and roughly chopped
  • ¼ kg kedondong, peeled and roughly chopped
  • ¼ kg jicama, peeled and roughly chopped
  • ¼ kg cucumber, peeled and roughly chopped
  • 200 gr seedless red grapes, cleaned
  • 4 green apples, cleaned, peeled and coarsely shaved

Spice

  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 3 pieces of cayenne pepper or according to taste
  • 50 gr granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ tbsp vinegar
  • ½ tbsp garlic

How to Make Rujak Gobed

  1. Arrange the pieces of fruit in a large container in order to make it look attractive.
  2. Blend the garlic, chili and vinegar until smooth. Add brown sugar and lemon juice, simmer over medium heat until the sauce becomes thick.
  3. Pour the sauce over the fruit, stir gently until smooth. Leave in the refrigerator for 1 hour to absorb the flavors. Serve cold for a fresher taste.
