Making fennel seed tea at home doesn’t require many ingredients, just fennel seeds, hot water, and a little flavoring such as ginger or honey.

Check out the easy steps below to enjoy this healthy drink, as reported on the page Real Simple.

Material

  • 1 tablespoon fennel seeds, lightly crushed
  • 2 glasses of water (around 500 ml)
  • 1/4 piece ginger, lightly crushed (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon honey or to taste (optional)
  1. Prepare the fennel seeds and ginger, then crush them lightly using a pestle or the back of a spoon. This step aims to extract essential oils from fennel seeds. Bring water to a boil in a small saucepan. After boiling, reduce the heat to keep the water temperature stable.
  2. Add crushed fennel seeds and ginger to boiling water. Stir gently so that the ingredients are completely mixed. Boil the mixture for 3-5 minutes so that the extract from the fennel seeds and ginger comes out optimally.
  3. Turn off the heat and strain the tea using a fine sieve to separate the fennel seeds and ginger. Pour into a cup. If you like a sweet taste, add honey to the still warm tea.
  4. Stir well until the honey is completely dissolved. Fennel seed tea is ready to be served. Enjoy it warm to get the soothing sensation and health benefits.
