Warung Turki owner Yanti S. Zorlu is committed to bringing the authentic taste of Turkish cuisine to Jakarta.
But this strategy was not chosen by the owner of the Turkish Warung located in South Jakarta. This restaurant, which was founded in 2015, chooses to serve authentic Turkish dishes. In fact, to present an original taste, some of the ingredients and spices are brought directly from this country nicknamed the Land of a Thousand Cultures.
Warung Turki owner Yanti S. Zorlu said that she and her husband, Chef Sezai Zorlu, who comes from Turkiye, have a strong commitment to serving authentic Turkiye cuisine in terms of ingredients, spices and processes.
“We want to present authentic Turkiye cuisine without modification. We believe in quality products, as well ingredients “which is original and we process it well, will provide food that everyone likes and is healthy,” he said
And, it feels like what Yanti believes is true. This stall is mostly visited by local residents, even up to 80 percent. “In Jakarta, Turkiye residents are only around 5 percent. So most of the visitors here are local residents,” said the woman who is also active in MUSIAD Turki.
Give an Unforgettable Experience
This restaurant does not only attract attention in terms of the authenticity of the dishes. Experience Visitors are also taken into account. Ambience “Turkiye” can be felt the moment your feet enter the restaurant door.
When we enter the restaurant, we feel as if we are transported to an ancient small village in the Turkish Mediterranean. Every detail has been carefully designed to give guests a glimpse of Türkiye. Starting from the traditional bamboo roof hung with beautiful colorful mosaic lanterns, to the walls painted in turquoise, it was chosen as Warung Turki’s theme color because of its representation of the Mediterranean Sea.
Traditional Turkish wood oven
The first thing you see when entering the restaurant is the beautiful wood fire oven, decorated with traditional Turkish tulips and a large ‘devil’s eye’ on top.
This is the essence of the culinary magic of Warung Turki where many Turkish dishes are cooked in wood ovens. On the second floor, antique artifacts are displayed in the “pigeon hole” which was inspired by Cappadocia, while the chairs and tables were custom made.
