From recommendations for typical regional dishes, the latest restaurant locations to visit, to practical recipes to try with the family at home, the foodie community comes to TikTok to discover, share and celebrate Indonesia’s diverse culinary heritage.
This authentic and passionate culinary community is the reason TikTok launched its first culinary campaign and festival entitled #FoodFestOnTikTok which is supported by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov).
As an effort and to encourage the potential of culinary diversity, for the first time in Indonesia, TikTok will present a culinary festival entitled #FoodFestOnTikTok which will take place from 25-26 May 2024 at Lapangan Banteng, Central Jakarta.
Supported by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, the #FoodFestOnTikTok culinary festival with the theme “Taste of the Archipelago” will bring the richness of local culinary delights that usually greet users on the ‘For You’ page to be tasted directly by the culinary connoisseurs who attend.
Enjoy local culinary offerings from more than 80 culinary entrepreneurs with more than 20 experience zones, musical performances from Adrian Khalif (@adriankhalif), Stevan Pasaribu (@stevanpasaribu) and Teddy Adhitya (@teddyadhitya_), as well as exciting culinary talks with culinary creators Ivyfeb (@ivyfeb) and Mgdalena (@mgdalenafofficial).
Faris Mufid as Public Policy and Government Relations, TikTok Indonesia said that apart from providing a place to bring together the culinary community, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will also bring 30 of its culinary MSMEs to serve their delicious dishes at #FoodFestOnTikTok.
“Thank God, Tiktok is trusted to be a place to share information about culinary delights that have the potential to uplift MSMEs or culinary businesses that are developing. “Through this platform, we can share creative content with each other which has an impact on the ecosystem which mutually benefits, especially for the MSME culinary industry where their business is becoming increasingly well known and makes people a reference for looking for new culinary delights,” said Faris Mufid in a zoom meet press conference #FoodFestOnTikTok, Wednesday (22 /5/2024)
Faris said that every day, foodie communities and creators share stories, ideas and inspiration about local cuisine creatively on TikTok. From hidden gem snacks to cooking tutorials, people can explore culinary content from all over Indonesia via the For You (FYP) page.
“Many local culinary businesses, including MSMEs, have also been discovered thanks to the active interaction between creators and users on our platform. “The #FoodFestOnTikTok campaign is our way of celebrating the rich culinary delights of the archipelago with the TikTok community in Indonesia,” explained Faris Mufid.
