Andika explained the reasons for choosing electric carts over conventional carts like most traders.

“What is certain is that because it is portable and easy to charge, there is no need to buy petrol. So far there are a lot of motorbike carts, that’s why we have adopted electric carts as coffee carts,” said Andika at Sindhu Beach, Denpasar, Bali, Sunday (14/ 7/2024).

According to him, one battery charge takes eight hours. When the battery is full, the cart can travel a distance of around 15 kilometers (km).

Andika explained that the presence of Sruuput Kopi was also based on his concern that it was difficult to find coffee drinks at pocket-friendly prices.

“Along the Sindhu Beach, the average price is IDR 20 thousand to IDR 30 thousand and above. So, we are looking for a solution by opening here and targeting the young people who often hang out here,” explained Andika.

He was also inspired by the many mobile coffee carts in Jakarta. Meanwhile, in Bali it is still very rare. Andika also tried to adopt and modify it to be implemented in Denpasar.

Long story short, with capital of around IDR 30 million, Andika started his electric cart coffee business. Every Monday-Saturday at 13.00-15.30 WITA Sruuput Kopi usually hangs out in front of SMAN 1 Denpasar. Then, at 16.00-18.30 WITA, they moved to Sindhu Beach.

Andika explained that every Sunday his coffee cart operates from 07.00-09.30 WITA and continues at 16.00-18.30 WITA at Sindhu Beach. In one shift, he usually carries 100-125 cups.

“So far the market response has been quite good. Others are also enthusiastic about the concept of coffee carts at affordable prices,” said the man who works as a police officer.

One of the young people who enjoy coffee at Sruuput Kopi is Ni Kadek Angel Monica (19). He admitted that he knew about the electric coffee cart at Sindhu Beach through social media TikTok.

“What makes him interested is the menu choices and relatively cheap prices. This is also the first time I have seen coffee at this price here,” he explained when met at Sindhu Beach.

Angel is happy that the electric coffee cart hangs out at Sindhu Beach every day because it adds to the culinary variety there.

“Usually when I go to Sindhu Beach, I buy spring rolls, crepes and grilled corn. So, this adds a new variant of culinary delights on this beach,” said Angel.

From observation detikBali At the location, this electric coffee cart is quite popular with visitors. detikBali also tasted one of the menus, namely Kopi Susu Sruput.

Even though the price is considered economical, the taste of this coffee is not much different from most coffee in coffee shops. The combination of coffee and sugar is also quite balanced, and the taste is quite creamy. Then from the packaging side it looks attractive and contemporary.
