The winner of the Regent Election (Pilbup) of West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Edistasius Endi-Yulianus Weng (Edi-Weng), responded to the plans of candidate pair (paslon) number 1, Christo Mario Y Pranda-Richard Tata Sontani (Mario-Richard ), who will challenge the regional election results to the Constitutional Court (MK). Meanwhile, Edi-Weng won the West Manggarai Pilbup with a lead of 2,708 votes over Mario-Richard.
Candidate candidate number 2 appreciates Mario-Richard’s decision to challenge the results of the West Manggarai Pilbup which they won to the Constitutional Court. Because bringing a dispute over regional election results to the Constitutional Court is a constitutional step.
“We respect it, that is their right,” said Yulianus Weng, Wednesday (4/12/2024) evening.

Edi-Weng appealed to the public, especially his supporters, to maintain a conducive atmosphere in West Manggarai. There is no need for excessive euphoria to celebrate the victory of the 2024 West Manggarai Pilbup.
“There’s no need to be overly euphoric,” said Weng.
It is known that Mario-Richard have not accepted defeat in the 2024 West Manggarai Pilbup. The duet supported by the fat coalition will challenge the results of the West Manggarai Pilbup to the Constitutional Court. Mario-Richard believes that there is a lot of fraud in the implementation of the 2024 West Manggarai Regional Election.
“Yes (Mario-Richard challenged the results of the West Manggarai Pilbup to the Constitutional Court),” said Mario confirmed via WhatsApp message, Wednesday (4/12/2024).
The fraud, said Mario, was carried out in a structured manner. One example is his accusation that the Chairman of the West Manggarai General Election Commission (KPU), Ferdiano Sutarto Parman, voted at two different polling stations on voting day on November 27 2024.
Ano – Ferdiano’s nickname – has denied Mario’s accusations. He called Mario’s accusations slander. Ano emphasized that he only voted at TPS 02 Batu Cermin Village as a transfer voter.
Mario also claims to have a lot of evidence of how government officials down to the village level are mobilized to support certain candidate pairs. That includes mobilizing school principals and teachers. Mario emphasized that all the evidence would be brought to the Constitutional Court.
