YOGYAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Soon there will be durian fruit harvest in Gunungkidul, Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY). One of them is a typical durian called kencono rukmi.
The name kencono rukmi was given by the Governor of DIY, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X in 2012.

In fact, there is a Decree (SK) from the Ministry of Agriculture which determines kencono rukmi to be the Gunungkidul durian brand.
“Kencono is gold, rukmi is gold, paringan (a gift) from Sri Sultan (Hamengku Buwono /2025).

Raharjo continued, the Kencono Rukmi durian has yellow flesh and a sweet fruit taste.
However, unlike durian in general, the smell emitted is not so strong.
“Similar to durian, the alcohol content is low, no jump “But it’s also sweet when it’s ripe,” said Raharjo.

Head of the Nglanggeran Tourism Village Management, Mursidi, said that the Kencono Rukmi durian was planted in the residents’ gardens.
“Some were planted in residents’ gardens,” he said.
He said that currently durians can be harvested, but not many.
“Maybe it will be a month before the harvest,” said Mursidi.
