“Starting from 9 jars of roasted coffee borrowed from his good friend, Mr. Suradi and his wife, they developed their business tenaciously and patiently,” wrote Sri Mulyani in the caption (18/06).

It turns out that the Dunia Kopi kiosk was founded in 2000. To detikcom (18/06) Suradi shared his interest in coffee until he finally decided to set up a coffee kiosk.

“In the past, when you saw coffee it seemed difficult to buy. There was powder on the market, we also have a lot of coffee from Aceh to Papua but it was difficult to buy,” said Suradi.

“So I thought, how can I get coffee from every region in the market. The price is cheap, so for IDR 100 thousand you can get up to 7 types of coffee,” continued Suradi.

Furthermore, Suradi also explained that there are four types of coffee offered, namely Arabica, Robusta, Liberica and Excelsa. The types of processes also vary.

Starting from full wash, semi wash, natural, honey, anaerobic and wine. Of the four types of coffee, Suradi said that Arabica coffee is the most popular among customers.

Coffee beans are taken directly from local farmers. Some are also taken from the coffee plantation itself on Mount Cihurip, Garut, West Java.

In one month, Suradi managed to sell around 300 to 500 kilograms of coffee. Sales are not only in Indonesia, but also abroad, such as Singapore, Korea, Japan and Arabia.

“Just yesterday we sent 1 ton to Singapore. Many foreigners like our coffee. Japanese people often come here, usually they don’t like sourness, so they buy Balinese or Toraja coffee,” said Suradi.

What’s more interesting is that Suradi’s Dunia Kopi kiosk is frequented by high-ranking officials and important figures. Apart from Sri Mulyani, previously the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, had also visited his kiosk.

“A series of officials who really like coffee stopped by Regional Secretary Marullah Matali, Sri Mulyani twice with her husband, Sandiaga Uno, Rizal Ramli also once,” said Suradi.

With this coffee business, Suradi hopes to develop local types of coffee not only in Indonesia, but also known throughout the world.
