This is also presented in Invest and Trade Western Australia entitled Western Australia Week 2024 (WA Week 2024), a vibrant celebration that showcases the rich cultural diversity, educational excellence and culinary diversity of Western Australia.
This event takes place from 29 May to 6 June 2024, this series of events takes place in Jakarta and Surabaya, bringing to life the essence of Western Australia in Indonesia.
Western Australia’s Commissioner for Investment and Trade in the ASEAN Region, Bryce Green, emphasized the importance of this initiative.
“WA Week 2024 is designed to engage a wide audience, featuring six important events that highlight Western Australia’s strengths in various sectors. These events include the Lambtastic Battle, a networking reception and screening of the WA Blueback film, as well as the WA Education Open Day. Each activity promotes skills and unique opportunity in Western Australia,” said Bryce Green, Thursday (6/6/2024).
In the release statement, it was stated that the WA Education Agent Workshop and Open Day was held in Jakarta on June 3 and in Surabaya on June 5.
This event brought together Indonesian students, parents and education agents with representatives from 12 leading education and training institutions in Western Australia. This initiative aims to showcase the academic excellence and diverse opportunities available to Indonesian students in Western Australia.
Meanwhile WA Week 2024, will also feature a screening of the family-friendly film “Blueback”, which showcases the natural beauty and culture of Western Australia.
The film was shown in Jakarta on 31 May and 3 June, and in Surabaya on 4 and 5 June. Attendees had the opportunity to interact with Rick Rifici, underwater cinematographer for Blueback, who shared insight into the making of the film.
WA Week 2024 coincides with the Australian Indonesian Cinema Festival (FSAI) in the year which marks 75 years of diplomatic relations between Australia and Indonesia. This alignment underscores a commitment to cultural exchange and collaboration, fostering deeper connections through shared cinematic experiences and creative dialogue.
