Kompas.com – The community now has the opportunity to recycle used cooking oil through the UCO Green Movement program initiated by Pertamina.
This program is designed to collect Used cooking oil (UCO) or used cooking oil at a number of gas stations and Pertamina IHC Hospitals spread across Jabodetabek and Bandung.
Launched on December 21, 2024, this program aims to support the use of household waste into biofuel raw materials.

Pertamina President Director Patra Niaga, Riva Siahaan, stated that this program is part of an effort to recycle used cooking oil waste in order to provide greater benefits.
“We invite the public to actively participate in recycling cooking oil, commonly known as UCO, so that it can be used as raw material for biofuel production,” Riva said, quoted from an official statement on Monday (1/20/2025).
However, not all types of used cooking oil can be sold to Pertamina. There are special criteria that must be met by used cooking oil so that it can be accepted in this program.
Criteria for used cooking oil can be sold in Pertamina
Based on information from the Mypertamina page, here are the criteria for used cooking oil that can be sold to Pertamina:
1. Clean and free of dirt
Cooking oils must be clean without food scraps or other particles that pollute.
2. Free of other liquid mixtures
Oil should not be mixed with water, chemicals, or other liquids that can affect its quality.

If used cooking oil according to the criteria and can be sold in Pertamina, you can get a reward of Rp 6,000 per liter and an additional mypertamina e-voucher worth Rp. 25,000 for participants who meet the criteria.
