Seafood is popular with many people because it tastes delicious and offers many healthy benefits. Even though this claim is not wrong, you still need to be careful when tasting seafood. The reason is, consumption of certain types of seafood is not good for health, animal cultivation itself, and environmental sustainability.

Tuna is one of the fish rich in omega-3 fatty acids which are healthy for the body. There are various types, one of the ones that is often used as sushi and sashimi is bluefin or bluefin tuna.
This fish is one of the largest fish which can reach a weight of around 225-250 kilograms. If sold on the market, the price can also be very expensive.
However, the population is currently greatly reduced, mainly due to overfishing. In fact, this type of fish is on the list of 10 animals that are almost extinct, reports cnnindonesia.com (04/11/2015).
Environmental experts also warn that if this fish is consumed frequently, it could push the species to the brink of extinction. To reduce this risk, it is recommended to reduce catches or promote fishing practices that are safer for the population.
Apart from the problem of scarcity, this fish apparently also contains a lot of mercury which is dangerous for humans, especially pregnant, breastfeeding women and small children.

Several restaurants still offer processed shark fish, from fried shark meat, shark meat made into soup, to satay.
Unfortunately, the benefits of shark meat are not as beautiful as its appearance and delicious taste. This meat poses a health risk because it contains quite high levels of mercury. Its consumption has the potential to affect the brain and central nervous system.
Additionally, shark populations are also declining worldwide with many species threatened with extinction from overfishing and finning. Finning is the process when a shark’s fins are cut off and then returned to the sea where it will slowly die.
