Chicken Satai is served more aesthetically, small portions are exorbitantly priced

Cheap food can become expensive when sold in luxury restaurants. The appearance of expensive food also seems to be influenced by the name of the food, especially if it is in a foreign language.

One example is shared by the Twitter account @kismin666oys. In the upload, he compared two eggplant rice with different prices. In the first photo, penyet eggplant rice is visible, while the second photo contains a vegan unagi rice bowl.

The price difference is quite large, reaching tens of thousands of rupiah. The appearance of the eggplant in the second photo is somewhat similar to unagi or freshwater eel. No wonder this food is called unagi which can be eaten by vegans.

A portion of penyet eggplant white rice is sold for Rp. 9 thousand, meanwhile, a portion vegan unagi rice bowl sold for IDR 69 thousand. Various comments filled this upload.

If you use English, will the Indonesian food menu be more expensive? Wow, here those who have western names are expensive,” commented one netizen.
