1. Add Spices and Seasonings

Vatche Shakarian recommends adding herbs and spices to healthy meals to make them less boring. The types can be garlic, ginger, galangal, cumin, cloves, pepper, and many more.

These kitchen spices can still be used as long as they are not excessive. Shakarian even asked not to be afraid of using kitchen spices.

2. Add Low Calorie Sauce

Sauces such as tomato sauce or mayonnaise are high in calories. However, you can look for healthier alternative sauces.

Now, there are many low-calorie sauces that can be found. For example, replace barbeque sauce with barbeque sauce without sugar which has much lower calories.

In some supermarkets, low calorie sauces are also available that are diet friendly. Such as low-calorie mayonnaise sauce to chili sauce that is free from sugar.

However, you still have to pay attention to its use, because some sauces sold in supermarkets may contain less healthy ingredients.
