detikFood is again holding the ‘Coffee and Cafe Workshop’ event, in collaboration with the Indonesian Coffee Academy and supported by Modena Indonesia.

Taking place at the MODENA Experience Center Suryo, this workshop will be divided into two days with different material. On the first day of this workshop, we will discuss the background of the cafe business in Indonesia, the best types of coffee, and cafe menus that are popular with the public.

“Today we will start a coffee workshop session, this is a collaboration with the Indonesian Coffee Academy and Modena for the first time. Recently coffee has been very booming, we want to invite all coffee lovers and those who want to open a coffee business to join this class. Several years ago “then we weren’t sure whether anyone would want to come to the coffee class, but now there are more and more coffee enthusiasts in Indonesia,” said Odilia, Managing Editor of detikFood when opening this Coffee and Cafe Workshop event.

“Now the excitement is about coffee, the development of coffee in Indonesia is twice as fast as the development of coffee in the world. So the opportunities for the coffee business in Indonesia are getting bigger, so it’s time to strengthen the coffee market with coffee from Indonesia in our own country,” explained Irvan Helmi from the Indonesian Coffee Academy to detikFood (20/10).

Apart from digging deeper into the prospects for the cafe business in Indonesia. Workshop participants will be invited directly to learn more about coffee.

One of them is learning to cup several types of local coffee in Indonesia, then getting to know the types of brewing using a machine or manually. Finally, there was a coffee tasting event from different brewing equipment.

“The key is that all this material can be absorbed easily, there is only one way, namely relax. Don’t make it difficult, because no one is an expert in the field of coffee, everything definitely requires study and practice. So today’s coffee workshop is really for learning and mutual sharing,” continued Irvan, who has been involved in the coffee sector for a long time.

Enthusiasm for today’s Coffee and Cafe Workshop can be seen from the participants who have been coming since the morning. There were more than 30 participants from various circles of coffee lovers and business people who attended.
