1. Increase body weight
Fat supplies calories twice as much as carbohydrates or protein. This makes your weight gain.
As a context, fat provides nine calories per one gram, while carbohydrates and protein both provide four calories per gram.
2. Cholesterol levels increase

People who consume excessive amount of saturated fat tend to show an increase in LDL cholesterol levels. LDL cholesterol is also known as a type of bad cholesterol.
Those who follow the keto diet are very vulnerable to having LDL levels that are higher than normal because they consume fat.
3. Breath smells unpleasant
“If you use fat as the main energy source, you produce ketones, which causes you to emit unpleasant breathing odors,” Klodas said.
Many people who go on a high -fat diet and greatly reduce carbohydrate intake need to brush teeth several times a day to reduce this side effect.
4. Uncomfortable digestion

If your food is high in fat, most likely you do not consume a lot of vegetables, fruits, or whole grains, all of which are good sources of fiber.
Low fiber diet can cause constipation and other digestive problems. This is also a common side effect for those who eat too much meat.
5. Frequent bloating
Klodas said that saturated fat and trans fat are both known to cause inflammation in the body, which can make you feel bloated and lethargic, among other things.
Long -term side effects
If you prefer to eat foods that are high in fat, such as meat, certain types of fish, and even nuts rather than consuming various types of balanced foods such as green leafy vegetables, fruits, and whole grains, you can lack some important vitamins and minerals.
Another thing that Klodas warned was the body’s innate biochemical changes. If you regularly consume calorie dense foods or high -fat foods and realize that your weight is gaining, you can increase the risk of insulin resistance. This can cause type 2 diabetes, fatty liver disease, and hypertension.
In addition, consuming too much fat food can also increase the risk of cancer.
“Studies that observe eating habits of various populations and health metrics show a consistent relationship between high fat intake and high level of cancer,” he said.
