The typical Balinese culinary delights served at the Tanah Lot Art and Festival 2024, Tabanan, are in demand by many tourists. Traditional foods such as uli tape, laklak, klepon, satay lilit, and Balinese rujak are the main choices for visitors who come to the Tanah Lot Tourist Destination Area (DTW).

Ni Wayan Suarnadi (51), one of the sellers serving uli tape snacks, stated that Balinese culinary delights remained a favorite among tourists during the three days of the 2024 Tanah Lot Art and Festival.

“It’s rare to find uli tape, people usually only eat it at certain events, so it’s rare for people to make it,” said Suarnadi when met detikBaliSunday (25/8/2024).

Suarnadi added that usually this culinary delight is only served at certain events, such as weddings, teeth cutting (Hindu metatah ceremony in Bali), and other events.

During the three days of the Tanah Lot Festival, Suarnadi has prepared hundreds of portions for visitors. Tourists are interested in trying Balinese culinary specialties because of their uniqueness and different tastes.

“Quite a lot of tourists try it because there is a fermentation process, but it doesn’t use sugar and the taste remains sweet. That’s what attracts tourists,” he explained.

Meanwhile, other culinary delights such as chicken wrap satay are also tourists’ favorite choices. Gede Suma (30), who also serves culinary at the Tanah Lot Art and Festival 2024, prepares 200 pieces of chicken wrapped satay in one shift.

“Visitors’ enthusiasm is quite high, many people buy it. We use a kilo system for chicken wrap satay, usually up to 10 kilograms in one shift. We serve it in the morning and afternoon,” said Suma.
