Aluminum is often found in several cutlery or cooking utensils. These tools can be found in pans, drinking water bottles, and food packaging such as aluminum foil.
There are several studies that highlight areas where aluminum cookware can pose a dangerous risk to life.
This can happen because when food is cooked in an aluminum pan, around 1-2 mg of metal mixes with the food. Without realizing it, this mixture can cause dangerous risks including dementia, Alzheimer’s and kidney disease.
The World Health Organization (WHO) reveals that the average adult can consume around 5 mg of aluminum/day from food and 0.1 mg/liter of aluminum from drinks.
If someone consumes more than that, it could pose a serious threat.
2. Affects Brain Tissue
Aluminum is often found in everyday cooking and eating utensils. However, this metal can affect brain tissue.
According to some recent studies, cooking with aluminum utensils may lead to an increased risk of Alzheimer’s disease.
Meanwhile, other studies have also found that there are increased levels of aluminum in brain tissue in some patients suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinsonism dementia.
Although further research needs to be done, there is nothing wrong with trying to reduce the use of aluminum eating and cooking utensils.
