Four decades sell, old Muslim stalls adapt to digital payments through QRIS merchants

TABANAN, BALIPOST.com – The crowd appears in one of the stalls that sells satay and goat gule at the Kediri Terminal, Tabanan on Monday (7/4) afternoon.

Employees with 6 people appear to be busy serving buyers. The owner, Haji Abdulrohman is also busy mixing seasoning and pouring gule into a bowl to meet the buyer’s order. Every now and then, he was seen checking the satay cooked by his men.

Warung Sate named “Old Muslim Warung” has indeed been legendary among the Tabanan community. Not only from Tabanan, customers also come from various districts/cities in Bali.

For, thousands of skewers are sold at a price per 10 stab Rp. 30,000. While Gule Goat is priced at Rp. 25,000. There is also a goat kikil soup which costs Rp. 35,000 and chicken satay Rp. 25,000 per 10 sticks.

Asked about his satay stall, Haji Abdul Rohman said he had been selling at the Mengwi Terminal for quite a long time. Since the 1980s or 4 decades.

Over the times, he also accepted Qris payments. One of them became a BRI merchant.

He admitted that by becoming a BRI merchant, many benefits were felt. Including, payments from customers also go directly to the account. “If you use QRIS, payments can go directly to the account, so it’s easier for traders,” he said.

Its customers are also said to be quite a lot of people paying using QRIS, especially in the digital era like today. They do not bring more cash in large quantities and rely more on digital payments.

One of the users of Qris BRI who happened to be eating there, Putra Nugraha admitted that payment through Qris was much easier. The man from Gianyar who claimed to buy satay because there was an event in Tabanan also claimed to choose shopping at a stall that provided Qris as a means of payment because it was easier and more practical. “Yes, it’s easier if you use QRIS. Just pay with Brimo, no need to think about change money,” he said.

Previously, BRI Denpasar CEO Regional CEO Hery Noercahya said that currently there are 181,359 BRI Qris Merchant in the Bali Nusra region. They spread in Bali as many as 111,462 users, NTT as many as 34,527 users, and NTB reached 35,370 users.

“Besides being safe because the transaction is recorded, Qris BRI is also practical and fast, so it is more time efficient,” Hery said recently.

He explained, Qris BRI is now equipped with a BRI Merchant application that has 3 main features, namely transaction details, downloading settlement and transaction reports, as well as user management features that make it easy for the owner to manage better transactions.

He also explained the requirements for people who want to get BRI QRIS for business transactions or receive donations or the world is quite easy. Namely, having an active BRI account, filling out the registration form provided, valid identity, such as KTP and NPWP.

Then register BRI Qris Merchant through the BRI Merchant application. This application is also equipped with interesting features such as, monitoring transaction details in real-time, download transaction reports at any time, voice notifications for each transaction, fast complaint handling process.

With a QRIS merchant, users can receive non-cash payments easily. Thus, business actors will be more advanced with a neat record of income through Qris BRI.

Citing data from the Bank Indonesia Representative Office (BI) of the Province of Bali, the use of Qris on the Island of the Gods increased from 993 thousand in 2023 to 1.08 million in 2024.
