Coffee and Matcha become a drink that is popular with many people. Both have significant differences. So, which one is healthier?

Caffeine levels in coffee that make the eyes feel more open and the body is fresher so popular. But the bitter taste often makes some people unable to stand and choose other drinks.

One drink that has many fans besides coffee is Matcha. Drinks derived from processed tea leaves are also considered as drinks that can be processed in such a way as coffee.

Both of these popular drinks have significant but interesting differences to know. Starting from the nutritional content to the ratio of caffeine in it. Which one is healthier?

1. Origin

Coffee comes from cherry coffee which is peeled and taken by the seeds. The coffee beans will then be fermented and dried so that it can be processed into coffee powder ready for brewing.

Fresh coffee fruit will go through a very long process to become a refreshing ground coffee. Similarly, Matcha derived from tea leaves through long processing to be brewed as a matcha drink.

Matcha is taken from a plant called Latin Camellia Sinensis or a tea tree. The tea plant will be held captive for three weeks before it is harvested to produce amino acids, chlorophyll so that the color is greener.

2. Nutritional content

Although coffee and matcha come from different plants, it turns out that both have the same good nutritional content. Both can also be used in various types of dishes ranging from drinks to desserts.

Processed matcha and popular coffee such as cold drinks, cereals, ice cream, gelato, cakes to toppings of various types of food. A touch of the taste of beans, sweet, slightly bitter and Earthy makes many people like it.

But if based on nutrition, these two materials have a significant difference. A glass of pure coffee has 2 calories, 0.3 grams of protein and 0.5 grams of fat. While Matcha has 5 calories, 1 protein and lean.
