3 Practical Maranggi Sate Recipes for Weekend Menus at Home

There are various variations of satay, from peanut sauce chicken satay, Padang satay to Maranggi satay. This typical Purwakarta dish is no less delicious than other types of satay and is suitable to be enjoyed with the family.

Beef Maranggi Satay

Creation recipe @cook_ummifaizfaqih This requires the following ingredients:

500 grams of beef

1 papaya leaf

Marinade Ingredients:

6 red onions, puree

3 cloves of garlic, crushed

2 cm ginger, crushed

4 cm young galangal, puree

1 tsp ground pepper

1/2 tsp salt

1 tablespoon round coriander, roasted and pureed

1 tsp cumin, roasted and pureed

1 tbsp vegetable oil

4 tbsp sweet soy sauce

2 tbsp tamarind juice

1 tbsp brown sugar

Soy Sauce Seasoning:

2 red onions, sliced

5 green bird’s eye chilies, sliced ​​(adjust to taste)

1/2 large red tomato, cut into small cubes

8 tbsp sweet soy sauce

1 lime or lemon, take the juice

How to make

  1. Cut the meat into cubes, take the papaya leaves, knead them. Wrap the meat in papaya leaves. Leave for 30 minutes or until the meat is soft.
  2. Prepare the marinade ingredients. Puree the shallots, garlic, galangal, ginger, coriander, cumin, pepper and brown sugar.
  3. The soft meat is seasoned with fine satay, soy sauce, vegetable oil, tamarind water and salt, and stir well.
  4. Cover and store in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  5. While waiting for the meat to marinate, prepare the soy sauce ingredients. Slice all ingredients. And put everything in a bowl, then add the soy sauce.
  6. Add the lime juice to the soy sauce, stir, taste test, and set aside.
  7. Skewer the meat with satay skewers. Heat the Teflon, spread with soy sauce, then grill the satay.
  8. Turn the satay over and over while smearing it with soy sauce, grill until the meat is cooked, and the maranggi satay is ready to be served with soy sauce seasoning.
