The delicious sensation of lobster rich in spices at Senja Seafood


Jember, East Java (ANTARA) – Seafood is one of the mainstay menus for culinary lovers because apart from its delicious taste, it also contains many nutrients that are good for the body, namely protein, omega 3 fatty acids, vitamins and minerals.

A variety of seafood can also provide a lot of nutrients that are beneficial for the body, so seafood is often a favorite menu for all ages and groups, and it would be a shame if it was missed without seafood.

Seafood culinary delights are available in almost all regions, especially districts/cities that have coastal areas with abundant catches, such as Jember Regency, East Java.

One of the housewives who also loves seafood, Zulfa Agustina, with her cooking skills, tries to offer seafood cuisine that is different from the others with menus ranging from lobster, crab, clams, shrimp and squid with various sauces on offer.

“To create the right recipe, I trial and error by trying some of the famous seafood culinary delights in Jember and Banyuwangi because I happen to be a Banyuwangi resident who lives in Jember,” he said.

From the results of exploring the seafood flavors of several famous restaurants, the mother of one finally found a seafood recipe that was different from seafood cuisine in general, targeting the lower middle class segment.

Actually, Zulfa started doing seafood culinary business in 2019 or before COVID-19, but due to raw material difficulties it became the main obstacle to continuing to do business, especially during the pandemic, the economic sector was getting worse.

He started his seafood culinary business again in September 2024 by naming it “Senja Seafood” and only serving orders (delivery orders) which serves culinary seafood that is different from seafood in general.

“So far, seafood food has been synonymous with expensive prices, so we try to offer affordable seafood culinary delights with abundant spices so that consumers are satisfied enjoying them,” he said.

To get quality raw materials at affordable prices, Zulfa sometimes hunts outside areas such as Probolinggo, Pasuruan and Gresik because sometimes raw materials such as lobster, crab and green mussels are hard to find in Jember.

“We have to look for raw materials outside the region, but there are already suppliers who come to Jember to supply raw materials for various seafood and often get raw materials from Gresik,” he said.

Some of the menus offered are Senja Squid, Senja lobster, Senja shells, Senja Shrimp, and Senja Crab with prices starting from IDR 20 thousand to IDR 190 thousand depending on the weight of the seafood raw materials.

However, consumers can also choose the Senja Mix menu, which is a combination of several seafood put together at an affordable price ranging from IDR 80 thousand to IDR 110 thousand.

The variety of sauces for preparations at Senja Seafood are also adjusted to consumer tastes, so there are several choices, namely Padang sauce, sweet and sour, garlic butter, blackpapper, oyster sauce and salted egg sauce, but what many consumers often order are Padang sauce, blackpapper and sweet and sour.
