Why can’t instant noodles consumed every day?


Kompas.com – Instant noodles are a favorite food of many people because it is practical, cheap, and delicious.

The taste is tasty and how to cook it that is easy to make it the first choice when hungry struck.

No wonder instant noodles are often consumed as a breakfast menu, lunch, even dinner.

Some people are even accustomed to eating instant noodles every day without thinking about their impact on health.

Although delicious and filling, excessive consumption of instant noodles can have a bad impact on the body.

High sodium content, saturated fat, and preservatives in instant noodles are at risk of causing various health problems.

Some studies have shown that consuming instant noodles every day can increase the risk of obesity, high blood pressure, to digestive disorders.

So, what are the reasons why instant noodles should not be consumed every day? Check out the following explanation.

1. Weight gain

According to Keck School of Medicine At the University of Southern California, an instant noodle block (along with its sauce) contains about 14 grams of saturated fat. This amount is equivalent to 40 percent of the daily needs of the body.

Instant noodles also go through a frying process before being packaged, making it more porous and easily cooked. As a result, if consumed every day without good portion arrangements, the risk of weight gain increases.

2. Blood pressure rises

According to American Heart Association (AHA), high sodium consumption can trigger high blood pressure.

One portion of instant noodles can contain up to 1,820 mg of sodium, approaching two thirds from the daily limit suggested by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

If consumed excessively, this sodium can withstand fluids in the body and cause blood pressure to increase.

3. Disorders of the liver

Instant noodles contain additional ingredients such as preservatives, artificial sweeteners, and synthetic flavorings to increase shelf life.

According to research Keck School of Medicinethese materials are difficult to digest the body, so the liver must work harder to break it up.
