The candidate pair of Regent and Deputy Regent of West Manggarai, Christo Mario Y Pranda – Richardus Tata Sontani (Mario -Richard), respected the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) who rejected the dispute over the dispute between the results of the General Election (PHPU) they proposed. Meanwhile, the winner of the West Manggarai Pilbup 2024, Edistasius Endi-Yulianus Weng (Edi-Weng), assessed that the Constitutional Court had made the best decision that led them to lead West Manggarai for the second period.
Mario-Richard and Edi-weng now invites the people of West Manggarai who were divided due to differences in political choices in the 2024 elections to embrace and unite to develop the regions.
“The West Manggarai Pilkada has been completed. Our hope, me and Pak Richard, the people who had been divided because of the political choice of the elections and then could return to greet each other in the spirit of brotherhood for a better West Manggarai going forward,” said Mario, Thursday (6/2 /2025).

Mario emphasized that the interim decision of the Constitutional Court must be respected even though the reasons for rejection were only related to the formal requirements for the deadline for submitting PHPU requests. He also mentioned that the trial at the Constitutional Court had not yet entered the stage of the main case examination they were nalilized.
“As citizens we respect the Constitutional Court’s decision even though the reason for rejection is only a matter of formal requirements related to the deadline, not yet included in the main examination stage of the case. I as a candidate for regent with an advocate background still respect the process and view of the court,” said Mario.
Meanwhile, Edi-Weng assessed that the Constitutional Court’s decision as the best decision because the people of West Manggarai had made their choice in the last elections.
“What is decided by the Constitutional Court I think it is the best decision because the people have been sovereign,” said Edi Endi.
“This victory is not Edi-weng’s victory, not the victory of people who support it, but this is the victory of all people of West Manggarai Regency,” he continued.
Edi-weng also invited the whole community to unite to develop the region. They also invited Mario-Richard to contribute to the construction of West Manggarai.
“I invite all parties both to the Mario-Richard candidate pair and the whole community, business people, let us together build this district. 01, 02 (Paslon serial number) has been completed, there is a West Manggarai that we love. We are the same “The same struggle, work to realize the common good or welfare of the people,” said Edi Endi.
The Chairman of the NTT NasDem Party DPW also thanked Mario-Richard for maintaining a conducive atmosphere during the West Manggarai Pilbup contest 2024. He said that the head to head competition between the two couples was safe and orderly.
“Thank you to Mario and Richard for creating a conducive democratic climate so that it runs smoothly, safely, and orderly,” he said.
Edi-weng won the West Manggarai Pilbup 2024 with a difference of 2,708 votes. They won 73,872 votes, while Mario-Richard received 71,164 votes.
Mario-Richard submitted a PHPU dispute to the Constitutional Court, but in the interim decision read on Wednesday (5/2/2025) night, their request was rejected because it passed the deadline.
The General Election Commission (KPU) of West Manggarai determined the results of the elections on December 3, 2024. In accordance with the provisions, the submission of PHPU disputes must be carried out within three days after the determination of the results. However, Mario-Richard just filed a lawsuit on December 6, 2024, which according to the Constitutional Court crossed the deadline.
Tonight, the West Manggarai Regency KPU is scheduled to hold a plenary meeting to determine Edi-Weng as an elected Regent and Deputy Regent. Their inauguration is scheduled to take place on February 20, 2025.
