A total of 500 joint personnel were alerted to secure the Bawaslu, KPU, and a number of public facilities ahead of the Dismissal Dismissal Session of the Regional Head Election (Pilkada) of Belu Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), at the Constitutional Court (MK).

Benny explained that hundreds of personnel had begun to carry out large -scale patrols in the Atambua City area since Tuesday (4/2/2025) night until Wednesday morning. According to him, large -scale patrols were carried out to guarantee and create situations and security in Belu remained conducive ahead of the Constitutional Court’s decision related to the Belu 2024 regional election dispute.
“For the Belu Regency Dispute Session itself will be held today so that we TNI-Polri is certainly assisted by the Regional Government and the support of all levels of the Belu community hopes that activities that have been run so far, continue to be conducive,” explained Benny.
Benny ensured that the situation in his area remained as conducive as usual. Because, community activities such as in the market, offices, and other places are safe.
“Hopefully this conducive situation will continue to be maintained not only during the Constitutional Court’s decision, but also in the future. Of course, even though everything is conducive, we remain alert,” added Benny.
Attorney Agustinus Taolin and Yulianus Tai Bere, Bernard Sakarias Anin, explained that the Dismissal session would be held at 13.30 WIB in Jakarta.
“Regarding the preparation, we are waiting for the results of today’s trial,” Bernard said.
Bernard emphasized that the 2024 election dispute case totaled 158. However, only 20 cases passed. One of them is Belu Regency. While the dispute rejected by the Constitutional Court there are four districts in NTT, namely Rote Ndao, Alor, Sabu Raijua, and Sikka.
“The four regencies did not qualify yesterday. What remains is only Belu, South Central Timor (TTS), West Manggarai, East Flores, Southwest Sumba, and West Sumba,” explained Bernard.
Bernard believes the lawsuit material filed is very feasible to be followed up in the trial. Because, based on recommendations from the Belu Regency Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) to the KPU that the settlement must be at the Constitutional Court.
“We feel that the material we propose is very, very feasible to be explored again at the next trial today because according to the Bawaslu recommendation letter, it came out after the determination of the winning candidate pair by the Belu KPU,” concluded Bernard.
Reported earlier, the Belu Regency Pilkada Dispute Session continued to roll. In the trial at the Constitutional Court on Thursday (1/23/2024), a new facts were revealed. The Deputy Regent (Vice Regent) of Belu was elected, Vicente Hornai Gonsalves, was proven not to check the statement form as a former inmate (inmate) when registering a candidate pair (paslon) regent-vice regent in the Belu KPU.
The Chairman of the Indonesian KPU, Mochammad Afifuddin, explained that in the registration process, the Vicente statement form did not check as a former convict. So there is no follow-up, for example he must convey to the public that he is a former convict including other documents.
“So the initial source, indeed the statement of his former convicted was not checked. So we consider him not a former convict,” said Mochammad Afifuddin in a written statement obtained by detikBali, Friday (1/24/2025).
