Jakarta (ANTARA) – Sushi and sashimi are two iconic dishes from Japan, which you can easily make at home using a simple recipe.
However, it is important to ensure that the types of ingredients used are fresh so they are safe for consumption. If you are interested in making sushi and sashimi at home easily and simply, here are the recipes you can follow.

Recipe for making salmon nigiri sushi
Ingredients
– 200 grams of fresh salmon (make sure the salmon is sashimi quality)
– 2 cups sushi rice
– 2 ½ cups water
– ¼ cup rice vinegar
– 2 tablespoons sugar (to taste)
– 1 teaspoon salt (to taste)
– Wasabi (to taste)
– Mushroom broth (to taste)
– Soy sauce for serving
How to make
1. Prepare sushi rice
Wash the rice until the water runs clear, drain. Cook rice with water until boiling, reduce heat, cover, and cook for 20 minutes. Mix cooked rice with vinegar, sugar and salt, stir, then let cool.
2. Preparing the salmon
Make sure fresh salmon has been frozen. Slice thinly 5-6 cm long and 2 cm wide with fine cuts.
3. Make nigiri
Wet your hands, shape the rice into a small oval. Add wasabi to the salmon slices, place the salmon on top of the rice, and press gently.
4. Serve
Serve salmon nigiri sushi with soy sauce, wasabi and pickled ginger as a side.

Recipe for making sashimi
Ingredients
– 110 grams of fresh salmon
– 110 grams of fresh tuna
– 110 grams of fresh yellowtail fish
– 1 bunch coriander leaves (washed and chopped)
– 1 tablespoon (15 ml) sesame oil
– 1 white radish
– 1 whole cucumber
– 1 whole carrot
– 250 grams sushi rice (optional)
– 1/4 avocado (according to taste)
– Half a fresh lemon
– 4 shiso leaves
– 1.5 cm wasabi
– 60 ml soy sauce
How to make
1. Prepare the ingredients
Wash and prepare all ingredients. Cut fresh salmon, tuna and yellowtail into thin slices according to taste.
2. Prepare vegetables
Slice the white radish, cucumber and carrot thinly lengthwise to serve as a complement. Chop the coriander leaves.
3. Add spices
Squeeze half a lemon over the fish slices for a fresh taste. Rub a little sesame oil on the fish to add aroma.
4. Serve with accompaniments
Arrange the fish slices on a plate, add sliced radish, cucumber, carrot and shiso leaves. Serve with wasabi, soy sauce and sushi rice (optional).
5. Serve
Sashimi is ready to be served with soy sauce and wasabi as a complement to taste.
