Jakarta (ANTARA) – Lovers of typical Acehnese dishes now have a choice of new restaurants with Tanah Rencong food to visit which are located in Bendungan Hilir, Jakarta.
Taken from the Acehnese “Kana” which means “already available” and “bu” which means “rice”, Kanabu restaurant offers caught chicken with marijuana chili sauce and goat curry as one of its mainstay menus.
Restaurant manager Teuku Fitriansyah said in mid-August (14/8) that the presence of this restaurant is expected to satisfy the longing of migrants from Aceh who miss the food of their hometown, as well as offering different menus from Acehnese dishes that were previously popular in Jakarta, one of which is Aceh noodles.

The mainstay of the menu is caught chicken, consisting of a male village chicken with soft meat, relatively small in size, fried with koja or temurui leaves, pandan leaves and various spices.
The chicken meat “sinks” under the leaves which are also edible, so consumers have to “catch” or look for chicken meat from the pile of fried leaves. However, the pieces of caught chicken in this restaurant are quite large, one head is divided into four parts, so it is not difficult to find it among the koja leaves and pandan leaves.
Eating pieces of caught chicken is more appropriate when dipped with marijuana chili sauce. Despite the name, there is absolutely no marijuana in the ingredients. This name was given because the fresh chili sauce with a savory and sour taste consisting of shrimp, starfruit, lemongrass and lime leaves is addictive.
Another mainstay menu is goat curry from large pieces of boneless meat cooked in a giant cauldron with a capacity of 30-40 kilograms, around 300-400 portions for one cooking. This goat curry is made with 20 kinds of spices which makes it taste full of spices.
