An appetizing Padang oxtail soup to break the fast


Surabaya (ANTARA) – Welcoming the holy month of Ramadhan, a star hotel restaurant in Surabaya is serving a menu of Padang Pasir oxtail soup as an alternative food for breaking the fast or sahur.

Chef Basuki Rahmat explained that what differentiates it from ordinary oxtail soup is that it is served on a tray sprinkled with “sand”, along with a number of dates as decoration “garnish”.

“Apart from that, dates are also part of the spices along with other types of vegetables which are cooked in soup as a seasoning for beef tail meat broth,” said Basuki, chef at the Tunjungan Hotel restaurant in Surabaya, when confirmed in Surabaya, Saturday.

One of the restaurant visitors whose appetite was stimulated to break the fast by ordering the Padang Pasir oxtail soup menu was Megawati.

“It’s delicious, the meat is tender,” said Megawati.

The woman, who works as a cafe singer every day, then eats dates which are one of the spices for Padang oxtail soup.

“The date variant in this soup creates a sweet sensation,” he said.

Then Megawati sipped the iced lemon tea that she originally ordered with Padang Pasir oxtail soup.

“Fresh, for breaking the fast, this is really suitable,” he said.

Megawati remembers that every Ramadhan the expression always appears to break the fast with something sweet.

According to him, the recommendation is to increase glucose levels in the body which decrease after a day of fasting.

“So the Padang oxtail soup which includes spices with the sweet taste of dates in the broth, is very recommended as an alternative food menu for breaking the fast,” he said.
