Recipe for Fried Shredded Ebi Dumplings, a Snack for the Family at Christmas


KOMPAS.com – Need a different snack for a family gathering at Christmas? Looks like the following fried dumplings filled with shredded ebi are interesting to make.

In the following recipe, the dumpling skins are made manually, but if you want to be practical, you can also use instant dumpling skins.

The dumpling filling can also be adjusted to suit your taste. If you don’t like shredded ebi, you can replace it with shredded chicken or shredded beef.

Ebi fried dumpling ingredients:

  • 400 grams of medium protein wheat flour
  • 50 grams of starch
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 milliliters of water
  • 1 teaspoon fine salt
  • Oil for frying
  • 200 grams of shredded ebi

How to make ebi fried dumplings:

1. Mix the wheat flour, starch and salt in a bowl until evenly mixed. Then add the eggs and water little by little while kneading until the dough is smooth.

2. Leave the dough for one hour at room temperature, then roll the dough using rolling pin to the desired thickness. After that, cut the dough into 5×5 centimeter pieces.

3. Take a sheet of skin dough, spread it with a little water, then fill it with a teaspoon of shredded ebi. Roll the skin like an omelette until the filling is completely covered.

4. Fry the dumpling mixture filled with shredded ebi in hot oil until cooked or brownish yellow, then remove and serve while warm.
