Deputy Minister of Creative Economy: Hotels can help develop the creative economy ecosystem



Jakarta (ANTARA) – Deputy Minister of Creative Economy Irene Umar appreciated the launch of the Local Snacks (JJL) application from Artotel and Olsera and said that hotels could be a means to develop an ecosystem of creative economy products from MSMEs.

“The hotel, if I may say so, is a partner or platform where MSMEs, creative economy actors, and creative economy fighters can be showcased here so that people can recognize them,” said Irene at the launch of the JJL application in Jakarta, Friday.

He said that there is actually a lot of creative economy talent in Indonesia and all that is needed is a “stage” to introduce their products.

Hotels are the right facility because apart from having a well-known name, they can also collaborate with various sectors such as the government or the private sector.

The collaboration with Artotel and Olsera in developing the JJL application is also to support meetings not only for MSMEs in the culinary sector and merchandising around the hotel area which has been accurate but also reduces the carbon footprint in terms of logistics delivery.

“What I actually see is that this helps neighbors reduce their existing carbon footprint. So there is no such thing as being sent from Papua to Aceh, if Aceh itself already exists. “Well, the defense of each city can be established with the existence of one of these ecosystems,” said Irene.

The Ministry of Creative Economy has big data to curate and champion creative economy actors. However, there is still a big task to develop the creative economy industry so that it is able to compete in a larger market.

The integration of big data from the 17 sub-sectors of the creative economy will illustrate what kind of value chain and ecosystem can be aligned with the relevant ministries, what private sectors can help and embrace communities to develop together.

“Digital is the easiest way to see the digital print, but what must also be done is from the grassroots movement. That’s why one of the ministries that we directly support is the Ministry of Home Affairs because from rural areas, from the provinces, everything has to work together. “If it’s just in the city, there will be gaps,” he said.
