The presence of FoodStartup Indonesia, said Angela, who is also the Deputy General Chair of the Perindo Party, could create it Indonesian culinary industry will become more advanced and better known internationally.
According to Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Angela, who is a member of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet, culinary is also the most popular creative economy subsector. Not only by MSMEs themselves but also tourists.
“So we need to really think about making the ecosystem even more mature,” said Angela at the Unleashing F&B Potential Contest Roadshow at Artotel TS Suites, Surabaya, Monday (20/5/2024).
“We can not only succeed domestically but on the global stage. That is our hope,” he continued.
More than 500 MSME players have benefited from FoodStartup Indonesia, which has been around since 2016. This program provides a series of training and mentoring, networking, business negotiations, and financing.
On the other hand, in making FoodStartup Indonesia a success, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy together with Wahyoo Ventures collaborated. Wahyoo Ventures has a similar program, namely Sayembarasa.
Sayembarasa has a vision and mission that is in line with FoodStartup Indonesia in empowering culinary MSMEs, recruiting and looking for role models for talented culinary entrepreneurs in the country.
“For FoodStartup Indonesia’s target in 2024, we can fund around USD 16.5 million (Rp. 263 billion),” he explained.
“I’m sure we can all move up in class. But the main thing is the willingness to innovate and work hard,” he said.
