Facts about instant noodle cooking water
According to doctor and nutritionist Tan Shot Yen, instant noodle cooking water that changes color is still safe for consumption.
He emphasized that products that have been registered with the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) have met safety and hygiene standards.
“If the boiled water is dangerous, then the noodles are even more dangerous, right? Wow, that’s misleading,” said Tan as quoted by Kompas.com (12/1/2023).
This statement is reinforced by the book Instant Noodles: Myths, Facts and Potential (2016) by FG Winarno.
