Recipe for Grilled Chicken with Barbecue Sauce, Serve with Sauteed Corn, Green Beans


KOMPAS.com – Family gatherings on Christmas Eve seem to be more complete and festive if accompanied by special food.

One idea for a Christmas Eve meal that you can make is grilled chicken with barbecue sauce. You can prepare the chicken marinade the day before so that the chicken tastes more delicious when served.

To make it more complete, serve grilled chicken with barbecue sauce with sautéed corn and green beans.

Barbecue sauce grilled chicken ingredients:

  • 4 chicken breast halves
  • Kosher salt to taste
  • Pepper powder to taste
  • 118 milliliters apple cider
  • 41 grams of tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon plus a teaspoon of mustard
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 bunch green onions (chop then set aside the white and green parts)
  • 1 red bell pepper (chopped)
  • 1 pack frozen corn
  • 1 pack frozen green beans

How to make grilled chicken with barbecue sauce:

1. Preheat the oven to 218 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, season the chicken with salt and pepper, then place it in a baking dish lined with aluminum foil.

2. Bake the chicken in the oven for about 30 minutes or until the skin is golden and crispy.

3. Meanwhile, combine the apple cider, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and one tablespoon of mustard in a small saucepan, then simmer over medium heat, stirring frequently, for about 15 minutes. After that, lift and set aside.

4. Melt the butter in a frying pan over medium heat, then sauté the garlic and peppers until soft, about five minutes. Sprinkle with 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper.

5. Pour in 59 milliliters of water, frozen corn, frozen beans, and one spoonful of mustard, then cook, stirring frequently, until boiling and the vegetables are tender, about 10 minutes. After that, add the green onions.

6. Turn on the grill, brush the chicken with barbecue sauce then grill for about three minutes until the sauce is thick. After that serve with stir-fried corn and beans.
