Milk Bandrek Recipe to Warm the Body


KOMPAS.com – Bandrek is a typical West Java drink made from ginger, brown sugar and spices.

You can make milk bandrek using liquid milk, ginger, lemongrass, pandan leaves, ground pepper, brown sugar, chicken eggs and salt.

Bandrek milk can warm the body and is suitable for drinking when the rainy season arrives. Check out the following recipe for milk bandrek which is easy to make.

Material:

  • 1 liter liquid milk
  • Ginger 100 grams
  • Lemongrass 2 stalks
  • Pepper grains 1/2 teaspoon
  • 2 pandan leaves
  • Brown sugar 300 grams
  • Salt 1/4 teaspoon
  • 2 free range chicken eggs

1. Wash the ginger, burn it and bruise it. Also crush the lemongrass stalks, coarsely crush the pepper, comb the brown sugar, and tie the pandan leaves.

2. Boil liquid milk with ginger, lemongrass, pepper, pandan leaves, brown sugar and salt. Stir well and cook until boiling.

3. Beat the chicken eggs, pour in a little hot liquid milk, then stir well.

Add the beaten eggs to the boiled liquid milk little by little while stirring and cook until it boils again, remove from heat and strain.

4. Serve in cups while hot for four people.
