Omakase Coffee in Jakarta, a new experience of drinking coffee at a coffee shop


JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Omakase closely related to Japanese food. Basically, this eating concept originates from Japan.

Literally, omakase means “I’ll leave it to you, chef” so guests only have to enjoy the food served by the chef.

This concept began to be used in coffee shops (coffee shop) abroad and Indonesia, especially in Jakarta.

Kompas.com try a unique experience omakase“coffee for the first time at Common Grounds Menteng Terra on Friday (22/11/2024).

This exclusive bar has just been inaugurated at Common Grounds Menteng Terra, Central Jakarta. A separate room on the second floor of the cafe is called the Trophy Room.

As the name suggests, guests can see dozens of trophies neatly arranged across the bar when entering this room.

Right in front of the rows of national and international coffee competition trophies, there is a bar with a capacity of six guests.

Ryan Wibawa, Head of Coffee Common Grounds, said that the exclusive bar at Common Grounds Menteng Terra is only open three days a week, namely from Friday to Sunday.

Every day at the weekend, there are three sessions available for this exclusive coffee service, namely at 10.00 WIB, 12.00 WIB, and 14.00 WIB.

“We created this Trophy Room so that guests can get closer to the barista. They can ask the barista more questions about coffee,” said Ryan.

The baristas who serve guests at this exclusive bar will change at certain times. Ryan is one of the baristas who is also present at this exclusive bar.
