Karangasem KPU recapitulation, Gus Par-Pandu wins landslide over incumbent

The Karangasem Regency General Election Commission (KPU) held a plenary meeting to recapitulate the 2024 Pilkada votes. The candidate pair (paslon) I Gusti Putu Parwata-Pandu Prapanca Lagosa (Gus Par-Pandu) won the 2024 Karangasem Regent Election (Pilbup).

In the recapitulation, the votes obtained by Gus Par-Pandu were far superior to incumbent candidate pair I Gede Dana-I Nengah Swadi (Dana-Swadi) and independent candidate candidate I Wayan Kari Subali-I Ketut Putra Ismaya Jaya (Karisma).

“Gus Par-Pandu is ahead by getting 145,344 votes or 52.8 percent in the Karangasem Pilbup,” said Chairman of the Karangasem Regency KPU I Putu Darma Budiasa, Thursday (05/12/2024).

Meanwhile, the incumbent candidate pair Dana-Swadi only received 91,448 votes or 33.2 percent. This means that the difference in votes between the two reached 53,896 votes. Meanwhile, Karisma received 38,241 votes or 13.9 percent.

Of the eight sub-districts in Karangasem, Gus Par-Pandu only lost in Rendang District. Meanwhile, seven other sub-districts were won with quite a wide margin of votes between the two competing candidate pairs.

Meanwhile, for the Bali Governor Election (Pilgub), candidate pair number 2 I Wayan Koster-I Nyoman Giri Prasta (Koster-Giri) was ahead by getting 149,560 votes or 54.2 percent. Meanwhile, candidate pair number 1 I Made Muliawan Arya-Putu Agus Suradnyana (Mulya-PAS) received 125,986 votes or 45.7 percent.

“After we recapitulated the votes, we waited for three days to see whether there was a lawsuit from the candidate pairs or not. After that, it would be determined who the winner would be,” said Budiasa.
