Anoint the legendary Wak Lek moss, taste selected vegetables and spices


Surabaya (ANTARA) – The city of Surabaya is known for its various culinary delights, including typical and legendary ones. One of them is “Anointing Moss and Wak Lek Groove” which has been popular for 33 years.

The location is on Jalan Wiyung II Surabaya. Enter from Gang Wiyung, then go straight for about 260 meters, turn left and the stall is right on the right side of the road.

The stall is simple and open every day, except Wednesday, from 09.30 WIB to 16.30 WIB or later. The seller is usually called Mrs. Asmani by customers.

Anoint the Moss and Wak Lek Groove using fresh ingredients. Vegetables such as kale, cabbage, long beans, sprouts, moss and furrows.

Moss used from the highlands, located on rocks with flowing water. Washed and dried 10 times until clean and dried in the sun until it expands, while grooves are found in the pond.

Then add grated coconut seasoning mixed with selected spices such as shallots, garlic, chilies, galangal and lime leaves. Don’t forget the chili sauce fresh Homemade food adds to the unique taste of this stall.

Apart from that, there are also other menus, namely pecel noodles, lontong noodles, rujak, gado-gado and various fried foods such as gandos, ote-ote, stuffed tofu, corn omelette and lento for IDR 10,000 per seven pieces.

“I’ve been a regular here since I was little. The taste never changes, it’s always delicious and reminds me of my childhood,” said Mrs. Icha, a loyal customer of Warung Wak Lek.
