Candidate pair (paslon) number 2, Agas Andreas-Tarsisius Sjukur (Akur duet), was declared the winner of the 2024 East Manggarai Regent Election (Pilbup). The candidate pair supported by the Gerindra Party, NasDem, PAN and PKB received 51,178 votes.
The determination of the winner of the East Manggarai Pilbup was based on the results of the plenary meeting to recapitulate the vote count at the East Manggarai General Election Commission (KPU) level. Duet Akur eliminated three of their rivals, namely candidate pair number 1 Siprianus Habur-Lucius Modo (Harum), candidate pair number 3 Selphyanus Tovin-Frumensius Fredrik Anam (Elemen), and candidate pair number 4 Yoseph Marto-Heremias Dupa (Merdu).
The Akur duet was ahead by 7,297 votes over the Harum duet who was in second place in the votes for the East Manggarai regional election. Duet Akur won in five of the 12 sub-districts in East Manggarai.
“Paslon candidate number 2, the Akur package received 51,178 votes,” said Head of the East Manggarai KPU Technical Division Konradus A Sandur, Thursday (5/12/2024).
Konradus said the Harum duet received 43,881 votes. Followed by the duet Element with 40,841 votes and the duet Merdu which only received 7,729 votes.
Based on the minutes and certificates of the recapitulation of vote tallies for the 2024 East Manggarai Pilbup, the Harum duet won in four sub-districts and the Element duet won in three sub-districts. Meanwhile, the Merdu duo lost in all sub-districts.
Konradus said that as many as 146,281 voters exercised their voting rights in the 2024 East Manggarai Pilbup. Of this number, 143,629 votes were declared valid and 2,652 votes were invalid.
The 2024 East Manggarai Regional Election will be attended by four candidate pairs. They are the Harum duet supported by the Golkar and Democrat parties. Next, the Akur duet was supported by the Gerindra Party, NasDem, PAN and PKB. Then, the Element duet was supported by PDIP and Hanura. Finally, the Merdu package was carried by PSI, PKN, Gelora, PKS and PBB.
