When is the Best Time to Consume Fruit?

Fruits and vegetables are a source of essential vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants that improve body health.

You can consume vegetables at any time, while fruit must be consumed at certain times, considering the excess amount of sugar they contain.

Fruits are superfoods that are nature’s powerful and important sources of nutrients.

However, it is important to know that otherwise you can have fruit at any time of the day. Especially, you should avoid eating it right after eating.

Sugar plus carbohydrates and bacteria can cause food fermentation, which can hamper the digestive system.

Macrobiotic Trainer and Nutritionist, Shilpa Arora ND agrees, fruit is a food in itself, fruit should not be combined with main foods.

The sugar in fruit is fermented if it is digested with heavy protein which usually takes time in the digestion process.

According to Dr. Zamurrud Patel, Consultant Nutritionist, Global Hospitals Mumbai advises, That eating fruits right after a meal is not a good idea, as they may not be digested properly.

Nutrients may also not be absorbed properly. You need to leave at least 30 minutes between meals and fruit snacks.
