Basil Chicken Recipe, Side Dish to Eat with Warm Rice


KOMPAS.com – Basil leaves, which have a distinctive aroma, are not only delicious as fresh vegetables, but are also processed with chicken to become basil chicken.

In this recipe, basil leaves are added at the last minute so they are still fresh. This side dish is delicious to eat with warm rice.

Material:

  • 1 chicken (cut meat into 20 pieces)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground pepper
  • 2 cm ginger (crushed)
  • 2 stalks of lemongrass (take the white part, bruise it, slice it obliquely)
  • 5 lime leaves (remove the bones)
  • 750 ml water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground pepper
  • 1 tbsp combed brown sugar
  • 5 sprigs basil (siangi)
  • 1 tbsp oil (for frying)
  • 500 ml oil (for frying)

Ground spice ingredients:

  • 5 large green chilies
  • 3 curly green chilies
  • 8 red onions
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • 3 cm turmeric (roasted)
  1. Coat the chicken with lemon juice, salt and ground pepper. Set aside for 30 minutes. Then fry the chicken, then set aside again.
  2. Pour oil into a frying pan to heat, add the ground spices, ginger, lemongrass and lime leaves. Cook until aromatic. Add chicken, stir.
  3. Add salt, ground pepper and brown sugar. Cook and stir again. Add water, cook again until the spices are absorbed well. Add basil leaves, cook and stir again. Lift, serve.
