One type of fruit that is good for people with HIV AIDS to consume is pineapple. This fruit contains the enzyme bromelain which can break down proteins in the HIV virus.

Meanwhile, for vegetable choices, you can choose broccoli. This vegetable is rich in vitamin C which acts as an antioxidant to protect the body from disease-causing viruses.

2. Increase protein consumption

Protein is a nutrient that is really needed by the body. For people with HIV AIDS, it is best to consume lean protein to strengthen the immune system.

Nutritionists recommend that men living with HIV consume 100-150 grams of protein per day. Meanwhile, women living with HIV are advised to consume 80-100 grams per day.

Make sure that your protein intake is no more than 15-20% of your daily calorie needs. Some food choices that contain lean protein are beef, poultry, fish, eggs and nuts.
