JAKARTA – Shanty’s profile in China has succeeded in stealing attention. The reason is, Shanty in China is actually a content on YouTube belonging to a woman from Padang named Shanty.

Through contents presented, this creator regularly uploads videos about his daily activities, such as cooking and selling typical Indonesian food.

With a variety of interesting content, Shanty’s figure has gone viral on social media. Some Indonesian netizens praised him for successfully introducing Indonesian food to China.

Currently, his YouTube channel even has 2.49 million subscribers. In some of her latest content, Shanty appears to be returning to Indonesia and tasting lots of different foods.

Shanty’s profile in China

Shanty is an Indonesian citizen (WNI) who lives in the Bamboo Curtain Country. Originally from Padang, she is known to have married a Chinese man and lived there for dozens of years.

Before regularly creating content on YouTube, Shanty previously worked as a chef at a restaurant in Jakarta. Then, he met a man from China named Joni who became a customer at the restaurant where he worked and eventually married.

Around 2008, Shanty followed Joni and moved to China. The initial desire to introduce Indonesian food began when Shanty wanted to have an activity and chose to sell.

Shanty then opened a business selling typical Indonesian snacks at her house. Interestingly, many locals love it, especially fried food.

So, when she started pursuing this activity, Shanty was interested in creating a YouTube channel. Sure enough, he started creating his own account under the name Shanty in China and creating various content showing his activities, including selling Indonesian food in China.

Unexpectedly, his YouTube content caught the attention of Indonesians and started to get a lot of followers. Currently, the channel even has 2.49 million subscribers.

Her success in building content on YouTube is also thanks to her husband’s big contribution, who was willing to buy a food truck for Shanty to sell. Through this facility, it is now easier for Shanty to sell typical Indonesian food.

Additional information, Shanty’s YouTube channel in China has been around since April 2022. In the statement there, Shanty also mentioned living in Dandong, Liaoning, China with her family.
