Then these 50 participants were divided into two groups. Groups of picky eaters (picky eaters) and non-picky eaters (normal). They were then asked to taste salt and vinegar flavored potato chips from the same brand, which were placed in white, red and blue bowls.
The results in the picky-eaters group, it was found that these colored plates greatly influenced their desire to eat, down to the level of saltiness they felt in their mouths.
Those who are often picky eaters apparently felt a higher saltiness when tasting potato chips from blue and red plates, compared to when they tasted potatoes on white plates.
This research also found that people tend to be reluctant to taste food from red plates. The color red itself is associated with a color that signifies ‘danger’.
